Overview
You send a message on ListManager that fails and is then stuck in "Retry" mode waiting for the retry timer to send the message again and you would like to know if you can force the email to be sent out instantly.
Information
Lyris ListManager does not have any feature like a button to force send an email in retry mode instantly. However, you can configure a short retry interval (minimum 6 minutes) by adding a smaller value in front for retry timing so it should retry sooner. For example, if it is set to the following:
"6,30,120,360,720"
The first retry will be after 6 minutes, the second retry after 30 minutes and so forth. The smallest acceptable retry interval is 6 minutes (0.1 hours).
Retry Intervals Configuration
Retries can be configured by following the steps below:
- Log on to ListManager as an Administrator
- Navigate to Utilities > Administration > Server > Server Settings > Network Settings > Deliver Email
- Adjust the value for Retry timing based on the guidelines above.
- Click the Save button
- Restart ListManager service for changes to take effect.
Retry Mode Additional Information
If there is an error while processing a message, ListManager will attempt to retry sending this message, so this email is said to be in retry mode. The ListManager will attempt retries according to the configured retry intervals and bounce limits. The following article outlines best practices for these settings:
Resending by Releasing Mailstream Blocks

In some cases, releasing the mailstream block if there is one for the specific IP/domain can make LM retry sending the email sooner. But this is not always recommended without analyzing why the block is there in the first place. The following articles have additional information on mailstream blocks:
