Overview
When members of your ListManager site click on the 'Forgot password' link they receive an email with a Password Reset link. When they click the link in the email they are directed to an internal or invalid URL which results in the message,
Hmmm… can't reach this page
lists.subdomain.domain.com’s server IP address could not be found.
- Search the web for lists subdomain domain com
ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
Where 'lists.subdomain.domain.com' is the URL that members are redirected to.
Solution
- Log on to ListManager as an Administrator
- Navigate to Utilities > Administration > Sites > Select the site
- URL to Web Interface: Enter the URL of your ListManager website
This setting determines the path of the Password Reset notification link, click-throughs, and other tracking. By default, the hostname of the machine ListManager is installed on will be displayed. Example:
http://lists.example.com
This setting does not determine the URL that administrators or discussion forum interface users use to access your server. That is determined by any DNS entries your ISP or systems administrator has created for your ListManager server.
- URL to Web Interface: Enter the URL of your ListManager website
After modifying this setting to point to your ListManager website URL, which has the appropriate DNS entries, members arrive at the ListManager password reset landing page when they click the Reset Password link that is sent to their email.
